چکیده
Since more than fifteen years an increasing interest is observed worldwide in remote control of low traffic airports by means some kind virtual tower. As outlined the Foreword Steve Ellis and Preface to 1st ed. this book, “Virtual Tower” depicts idea replacing out-of-the-window (OTW) view from a conventional tower on Remote Tower Control Center (RTC) relying advanced video, image processing, reality technologies. It eliminates need for direct visual observation consequently requirement costly building at exposed location distance runway. The virtual/remote connected with paradigm change air transportation due growth low-cost carriers corresponding increased usage small which nevertheless require services (ATS). Cost constraints new ideas concepts meet these requirements, one or without local visions. After providing Sect. 1 introduction basics airport vicinity, we continue 2 personal account Virtual research DLR perspective. section covers time frame initial around 2001 2014, including video VR technologies, addressing first operational shadow mode tests HMI prototype, finishing patent licensing industrial partner. In 3 focus development implementation phase between 2010 2020, covering important aspect multiple (MRT) operation standardization within growing international context. concluding 4 contains overview twenty-two Chapters four technical Appendices second edition book.

Bilevel Programming: Introduction, History and Overview
The bilevel programming (BP) problem is a hierarchical optimization problem where a subset of the variables is constrained to be a solution of a given optimization problem pa-rameterized by the remaining variables. The BP problem is a multilevel programming problem with two levels. The hierarchical optimization sctructure appears naturally in many applications when lower level actions depend on...
متن کاملAn introduction LDna: Basics
This vignette explains the principle of linkage disequilibrium network analyses (LDna) using the R-package LDna. LDna uses network analyses to find clusters of loci in high linkage disequilibrium (LD) from population genomic data sets. In LD networks vertices represent loci and edges represent LD values above given thresholds. Starting from a high LD threshold value, only few loci will be conne...

Conventional microstrip antennas in general have a conducting patch printed on a grounded microwave substrate, and have the attractive features of low profile, light weight, easy fabrication, and conformability to mounting hosts [1]. However, mi-crostrip antennas inherently have a narrow bandwidth, and bandwidth enhancement is usually demanded for practical applications. In addition, applicatio...
متن کاملThe Basics of Life History Theory
A female North Pacific Giant Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) lives three to four years; it lays thousands of eggs in a single bout and then dies. By contrast, a mature Coast Redwood Tree (Sequoia sempervirens) lives for many hundreds of years and produces millions of seeds each year (Figure 1). As these two examples illustrate, organisms differ dramatically in how they develop, the time they ta...
متن کاملIntroduction and Overview
Although automatically defined functions (ADFcts) with genetic programming (GP) appear to have great utility in a wide variety of domains, their application to the automatic discovery of 2-dimensional features has been only moderately successful [Koza 1993]. Boolean functions of pixel inputs, although very general, may not be the best representation for 2-dimensional features. This chapter desc...
